ALF Prize for Excellence

The intent in creating the ALF prize for Leadership Excellence is to provide the much needed recognition, support and encouragement to those individuals in Africa who have contributed and are positively contributing towards the overall development of their respective societies. It is a response mechanism aimed at cultivating instances of the triumph of the human spirit and the resilience of mind over matter as exemplified by the valiant contributions of individuals, community based organizations, non-governmental and other CSOs.

 Specific objectives include the creation of a mechanism for a restoring the values of public spiritedness and community service as core and shared values in Africa; the promotion and encouragement of leadership for sustainable development and to facilitate greater and widespread recognition of the actions and contributions of individuals and or organizations that are making a significant contribution to the advancement of African countries and also to facilitate the creation of role models for a fledging and African society for the 21^st century.
