| The Executive Committee | |||

The Executive Committee is primarily
responsible for drawing up programmes of activity for the Forum such as
fund raising. Both the Executive Committee and the Council of Conveners
met for the first time in August 1996 in Cape Town, South Africa during
which Dr. Francis Deng was unanimously designated to act as Chairman of
the Forum, to be assisted by Mrs. Graca Machel and Prof. Thomas Odhiambo
(now late) Members of this committee are made up of senior and experienced African personalities whose personal and professional achievements, integrity and professional competence are beyond reproach. The Executive Committee holds bi-annual meetings, one of which is held jointly with the annual meeting of the Council of Conveners. The Director (ALF) sits in as an ex-officio member and secretary. |
