Creative Leadership Workshop

Target Group: State and National Award Winners of National Youth Service Corps NYSC
Purpose: Systematic grooming of successor generation
Activities: Workshops to: Enhance innovative leadership

Training based on the assertion that individual effectiveness, within or without group situations, depends on the creativity, perception and imagination of the person and his relation to his community. Hence, the workshops will inculcate participants with the values and models of innovative leadership with a view to sharpening their creative resourcefulness, using a need assessment based curricula. The ideal leadership in the twenty-first century must go beyond the chance factor, which does not give equal opportunities to the enlistment of a creative and resourceful leadership. Creativity in leadership, involves resourcefulness, productivity, effective communication, innovation, imagination and persistence, thus the imperative for a mechanism to promote newer forms and levels of leadership.

The project seeks to facilitate a systematic, irreversible and progressive grooming of the successor generation of Nigerians, for a broad training and exposure, that will enable them withstand the challenges of leadership in the years ahead. It is anticipated that, as a result of the creative leadership workshop, participants would have imbibed the thematic and operational approaches of genuine ‘creative leadership"

Truly creative…and to think that all this while, I thought there was nothing I could do for myself and my community in spite of the state of the economy and the politics! Ijeoma Ifeanyi, CLW Class September 2001
